of low 80s, 79 in napa. 80 in concord. christie smith will be live in san francisco with a report on the efforts we are making in the bay area. a run happening at 7:00 a.m. as we head through the weekend, temperatures on the warm side. 81 degrees friday, into the weekend. temperatures stay warm. let's check your driver with mike. >>> we are talking about this area off of the castro valley "y," mission boulevard, cherryland, part of hayward, looking at slowing as you approach cherry. a two-block area closed between medford and blossom. that's a major issue. you are going to have to use foothill boulevard to or from. you will have to avoid that because of a crash. a vehicle hit a ped a little while ago. there is a closure for that two-block area. they are waiting for the coroner to arrive. this could cause quite a stir. this is just north of the hayward loop there. meanwhile, 880 through that area moves smoothly. no big deal. you have the crowd coming over from the altamont pass. you know about that. that's going to mean more slowing through 680. we come through sunol for much of th

will see that all of the temperatures are going to be back into the 90s from santa rosa to napa and concord and livermore and cities by the bay, and talking about 86 in oakland and 82 in san francisco, and to give you an idea of how major this is, this is going to be one of the most major heat waive -- heat waves e have seen breaking every record across the bay area. if the temperatures stick, this is going to be one of the largest heat waves we have seen since 2009, so if you have been here, it has been a few years since we have been this hot. the heat sticks around tuesday and wednesday and of course, the onshore flow will kick in this time of the year. as we get into may, we have a typical thing in may and we call it may gray and june gloom. >> not uplifting. >> fog season of course is what we get into as we head toward may and june. i'm not for it, but i don't call the rules. i'm just the messenger. >> okay. well, a seattle woman has been making souper hero capes for kis fighting diseases for some time, and now she is working on capes to send to children injured in the boston marathon b

starting off this morning in the mid-50s in nevado. a little cool in napa. san jose, 53. we have a big area of high pressure that's in control of our weather for today. really, for the next couple of days, this thing's going to be in charge of our weather and responsible for a big warm-up. in fact, it's going to feel more like summer today than anything else. keep the spf handy. 77 in san rafal. 73 in oakland. 78 in san jose. temperatures crank a little warmer. we could be looking at a few records not only for tomorrow but through tuesday. this could be some of the warmest weather we've seen if we, in fact, get back into the mid to upper 80s by monday. we could see a few valleys top out near 90. unbelievable. >> sounds unfathomable. thank you, appreciate it. the 11-year-old boy from martinez whose leg was badly injured in monday's bombings continues to recover this morning. the family says he was able to eat his first solid meal in the hospital yesterday and that he could be released soon from the hospital. a family friend and neighbor is holding a photo fund raiser for aaron today. many lo
